OBJECTIVE
To create and build a space that told the history of the BMW M series, culminating in a preview of the limited edition BMW M4 Competition x Kith. The installation also included a retail space for the limited addition Kith for BMW 2020 apparel and accessories collection.
APPROACH
In collaboration with our design partner BoND, we transformed the white-box-space into an enfilade; a suite of rooms along a central passage, common in European architecture. This design treatment cultivated a consumer journey that touched upon both the legacy of BMW and the modern innovations of Kith through a juxtaposition of historic brand elements and new collaborative vehicle. Geometric shapes, limited color palette, and focus on negative space brought the aesthetic of both brands together in an authentic showcase.
RESULTS
Despite taking place during a global pandemic, this successful 8-day pop-up was attended by a number of distinguished guests including members of the press, celebrities and collaborators close to both brands. The true marker of the pop-up’s success was when all of the limited edition BMW M4 Competition x Kith vehicles sold out on the first day of their official release.
